Malaga, the jewel of the Costa del Sol

In the south of Spain, in Andalusia, is located Malaga, a city bathed by the sea with an unbeatable climate. It is known worldwide for its beaches, its exquisite gastronomy, its pleasant people and its wide range of leisure activities. Malaga lacks nothing.

If you want to go swimming and sunbathing, Malaga offers a wide range of beaches throughout its geography: Malagueta, La Misericordia, El Peñón del Cuervo, etc.

The main attractions of Malaga's cultural heritage in the historic center are the Cathedral of Malaga, popularly called 'la Manquita', and the Alcazaba, a fortress built by the Muslims at the time of Al-Andalus

Malaga Fair

8 days of continuous joy and fun that infect the whole of Malaga with a festive and energetic air. This festival commemorates the reconquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs. It is always inaugurated with a proclamation recited by an autochthonous person and, at night, people congregate in Malagueta beach to contemplate a luminous spectacle of fireworks.

During these days of celebration, the soul of Malaga is split in two; one part stays in the center of Malaga, and the other flies to the fairgrounds. In the center, the fair begins in the morning and, as the afternoon falls, the party moves to the fairgrounds, popularly called El Real. In this enclosure are mounted attractions for the little ones, family booths and discos for the party animals.

We recommend you to bring your friends and family to experience the biggest party in Malaga and make the most of it, we assure you it will be an unforgettable experience!

Easter

The most emotional and solemn celebration in Malaga in which the last moments of Christ are staged. During this week, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, thrones (in other provinces, they are called 'pasos') are paraded throughout the center of Malaga and its surroundings.

The center is filled with crowds of people crowding its narrow streets until late at night to see the Christs and Virgins of their favorite brotherhoods. During these days, special foods such as torrijas, pestiños and codfish pancakes are prepared in Malaga

Sleepless Night

The City Council of Malaga organizes this cultural night party once a year. In it the Malaga night offers you more than 200 different activities scattered throughout the center. The museums, which open until the early hours of the morning to offer exhibitions, galleries and performances free of charge, are especially important

Museum route

Apart from sun and beach tourism, Malaga offers a wide range of activities for travelers thirsty for culture. Beyond the Picasso Museum in the center, the city also has other museums of high artistic value such as the Carmen Thyssen or the Pompidou.

Other notable museums are: the Museum of Malaga, the Automobile and Fashion Museum, the Museum of Glass and Crystal and the Museum of Jorge Rando

Malaga Carnival

Although the most famous carnival in Spain is the one in Cadiz, the one in Malaga is not far behind either! In these days so awaited in the province, the city is dyed in colors and costumes everywhere you look. The groups gather to sing choirs, murgas and comparsas in the Official Contest of the Singing Groups.

The people of the neighborhoods offer the public gastronomic tastings and sing carnival songs to liven up the atmosphere. In the burial of the anchovy, a giant anchovy is carried in procession to the Malagueta beach to be burned, symbolizing the end of the carnival.
